In today’s world, democratic republics exist on paper, but behind the scenes, unelected and often unaccountable power structures determine much of what passes for “governance.” These forces—commonly referred to as the elite and the deep state—wield immense influence over national policy, cultural norms, and global agendas. This blog post identifies who they are, where they come from, what they believe, how they operate, and how they override the will of the people in both the United States and across the world.
Who Are “The Elite”?
The elite are not just the rich or powerful. They are a transnational, ideologically aligned class that dominates key institutions of culture, finance, technology, media, education, and policy. Their power is not derived from elections, but from institutional control and global networks.
Core Characteristics of the Elite
- Education:
- Almost universally educated at top-tier universities (Harvard, Yale, Oxford, Stanford, Princeton, Georgetown, LSE, and Sciences Po).
- Trained in secular humanist or postmodern ideologies with emphasis on critical theory, technocracy, and globalism.
- Employment:
- Executive roles in multinational corporations, Big Tech, Wall Street banks, and media conglomerates.
- Key positions in global NGOs (e.g., Open Society Foundations), think tanks (e.g., Brookings Institution, Council on Foreign Relations), and international bodies (e.g., UN, WEF).
- Income and Wealth:
- Generally in the top 0.1% income bracket.
- Many are billionaires or manage vast endowments and investment funds.
- Locations:
- U.S. cities: Washington, D.C., New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago.
- Global cities: London, Brussels, Geneva, Davos, Paris, Berlin, and increasingly, Dubai and Singapore.
- Worldview:
- Technocratic and managerial—believe experts should govern.
- Globalist—national borders and cultures are seen as obstacles to progress.
- Secular-progressive on social issues—pro-abortion, pro-LGBTQ, pro-DEI, anti-traditional family.
- Environmentalist to the extreme—advocate for “climate justice,” often at the cost of energy independence or economic growth.
Notable Members of the Global Elite
- George Soros: Billionaire funder of leftist causes, Open Society Foundations, and soft regime-change movements.
- Klaus Schwab: Founder of the World Economic Forum, author of “The Great Reset,” proponent of ESG, digital ID, and stakeholder capitalism.
- Bill Gates: Through the Gates Foundation, pushes vaccine programs, climate policy, and education reform worldwide.
- Larry Fink: CEO of BlackRock, oversees trillions in global assets, drives ESG compliance across corporate America.
- Jeff Bezos / Mark Zuckerberg / Elon Musk (borderline): Big Tech titans with enormous influence over information flows, speech, and AI development.
- Barack Obama / Hillary Clinton: Archetypes of the elite political class—internationalist, ideologically progressive, and embedded in Ivy League and NGO networks.
Who Comprises the Deep State?
The deep state refers to the permanent, unelected bureaucracy and security apparatus that operates independently of elected officials. Its influence is greatest in the U.S., where constitutional limits on government power are routinely bypassed through bureaucratic fiat.
Core Characteristics of the Deep State
- Education:
- Predominantly from elite universities with degrees in law, political science, public administration, international relations, and intelligence.
- Many are members of Ivy League-exclusive clubs or networks (e.g., Skull & Bones, CFR).
- Careers:
- Long-term careers in:
- Federal agencies (CIA, FBI, DOJ, IRS, DHS, EPA, ATF)
- State Department and U.S. Intelligence Community (the “IC”)
- Pentagon, National Security Council (NSC), and defense contractors
- They transition between public posts and private firms (the “revolving door”)—especially military-industrial and surveillance tech sectors.
- Long-term careers in:
- Locations:
- Almost entirely centered in the Washington, D.C. metro area (Arlington, Alexandria, Bethesda, McLean).
- Strong influence hubs in Langley (CIA), Quantico (FBI), and Northern Virginia (defense contractors).
- Worldview:
- Anti-populist, anti-nationalist.
- Favor global military presence, technocratic governance, and surveillance.
- Oppose outsiders—especially Trump-style figures—viewed as threats to “norms” or “democratic institutions.”
Key Deep State Players (Past and Present)
- John Brennan: Former CIA Director, known for politicizing intelligence and opposing Trump publicly.
- James Clapper: Former DNI, admitted to lying under oath about domestic surveillance.
- James Comey / Andrew McCabe / Peter Strzok: FBI officials central to the Russia hoax and targeting of political opponents.
- Victoria Nuland: State Department official with deep ties to foreign regime-change operations, especially Ukraine.
- Anthony Fauci: Longtime NIH bureaucrat who directed U.S. COVID policy despite inconsistencies and stonewalling Congress.
- Robert Mueller: Former FBI Director and Special Counsel, represented the institutional resistance to Trump.
How the elite and the deep state steer nations and circumvent democracy
Whether in the U.S. or abroad, these two overlapping power structures—the elite and the deep state—coordinate through formal and informal means to steer the world toward their vision of a borderless, technocratic, progressive future.
A. Policy by Proxy: Think Tanks and NGOs
- Brookings Institution, Council on Foreign Relations, Heritage Foundation (to a lesser degree), and Atlantic Council craft policies that become the “default” for administrations of either party.
- NGOs such as Open Society Foundations, Ford Foundation, and Gates Foundation fund activist groups, voter registration drives, and legal challenges to conservative laws.
These bodies work outside the electoral process to create a one-way ratchet toward their vision.
B. Regulatory Dictatorship
- Agencies like the EPA, SEC, DOJ, and FDA issue thousands of pages of rules each year with the force of law.
- Even presidents struggle to roll back these rules due to civil service protections, judicial resistance, and bureaucratic inertia.
Example: Climate policies advanced under Obama were difficult to dismantle even under Trump due to bureaucratic resistance and legal challenges.
C. Intelligence and Surveillance
- Mass surveillance programs operate under vague or secret authorities (e.g., FISA courts).
- The intelligence community has become politicized—targeting parents at school board meetings while downplaying cartel activity or election fraud.
Example: 51 former intelligence officials falsely claimed the Hunter Biden laptop was “Russian disinformation”—a clear election interference effort.
D. Cultural Engineering
- Media outlets, tech platforms, Hollywood, and academia shape public opinion using elite narratives.
- Algorithms censor dissent; platforms “deplatform” critics; mainstream media marginalizes populist voices.
Example: COVID policies were enforced not only by the state but by YouTube, Facebook, and Google in lockstep with elite health authorities.
E. International Governance and the Great Reset
At the global level, the elite operate through institutions such as:
- World Economic Forum (WEF): Annual meeting in Davos sets globalist priorities.
- World Health Organization (WHO): Seeking power to override national health decisions.
- International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank: Attach progressive strings to financial aid.
Key Strategy: Use crises—real or manufactured—to centralize control and erode sovereignty.
“You will own nothing and be happy.” – WEF tagline reflecting the push toward digital identity, global regulation, and elite-controlled consumption.
What happens when their candidates aren’t prevailing?
In theory, Western nations are governed by elected representatives who answer to the people. In reality, those representatives are boxed in by a permanent ruling class that controls information, funding, and policy implementation.
When elites and deep state actors lose elections, they treat it as a temporary setback—not a mandate for change. When they win, they govern as if the revolution is permanent.
Awakening to reality
If there is to be any restoration of liberty, national sovereignty, or moral order, citizens must first understand that our current predicament is not simply about bad laws or misguided leaders. It is about an entrenched system—comprising both elite and deep state actors—that has declared itself the true sovereign.
To fight back means not only electing better politicians, but also dismantling the structures that keep them from wielding real power. That includes restoring constitutional limits, ending the revolving door between public and private sectors, defunding hostile NGOs, and decentralizing power back to states, communities, churches, and families.
The question is no longer whether the elite and the deep state are real. The question is whether we the people will be able to reject their rule.
