“Woke” once meant being alert to injustice. Today, it describes a full-fledged ideology—a secular religion rooted in critical theory, radical subjectivism, and revolutionary politics. It teaches people to see all of life through the lens of oppression, privilege, and identity group conflict. The “woke worldview” believes that truth is socially constructed, moral norms are oppressive, and America is a systemically unjust nation that must be dismantled and rebuilt according to progressive ideals.
But what makes someone “woke” in practice? It’s not about voting Democrat or recycling your milk cartons. It’s about embracing a certain set of assumptions—ones that often go unquestioned in pop culture, academia, and mainstream media. These assumptions form a worldview—a counterfeit gospel that promises justice through activism, salvation through affirmation, and community through conformity.
So how do you know if someone’s bought into it?
You Might Be Woke If…

- …you treat climate change not as a scientific issue but as a moral crusade that justifies banning gas stoves and eating bugs.
Religion and Culture

- …you think parents should stay out of curriculum decisions, unless they’re “affirming” parents.
- …you say banning pornography from school libraries is censorship, but canceling classic literature is “progress.”
- …you call the Founding Fathers white supremacists but praise Karl Marx as a “visionary.”
- …you think America is defined by slavery, not by the ideals of 1776 or the sacrifices of 1865.
- …you believe that children should be taught Critical Race Theory in kindergarten but think parents who complain are “domestic terrorists.”
Censorship and Speech Control
- …you think misinformation means “anything that disagrees with my narrative.”
- …you trust fact-checkers with political donations, but fear citizen journalists with a webcam.

Why It Matters
Wokeness isn’t just a cultural fad or a list of bad ideas. It’s a false religion.
It offers identity—but it’s fragmented. It offers justice—but it’s fueled by revenge. It offers community—but only if you conform. It offers forgiveness—but only after public shaming, struggle sessions, and endless apology tours.
Worst of all, it denies the most important truth: that we are sinners in need of redemption—not affirmation. That we need truth, not “our truth.” That freedom comes from God’s law, not from self-declared liberation.
The Bible tells us that “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge” (Proverbs 1:7). But the woke worldview begins with the fear of man—and ends in confusion. It redefines love, justice, family, and even truth itself. And that’s why we must expose it, oppose it, and offer something better.
Jesus didn’t come to affirm us. He came to save us. And that means waking up—not to our oppression, but to our rebellion—and turning to Him for mercy, transformation, and hope.
So if you recognize yourself—or your nation—in these points, it’s time to wake up… from being woke.

Realize that I sometimes use phrases like “trans man”, “trans woman”, “transgender” , “transition” or similar language for ease of communication. Obviously, as a conservative Christian, I don’t believe anyone has ever become the opposite sex. Unfortunately, we are forced to adopt the language of the left to discuss some topics without engaging in lengthy qualifying statements that make conversations awkward.
