A person who advocates for the immediate abolition, or complete elimination, of a practice regarded as morally wrong. In the sense of slavery, an abolitionist was someone who worked to end the institution of slavery. In the sense of abortion, an abolitionist is someone who seeks the complete legal and moral abolition of abortion and the legal protection of unborn human life.
