An approach that seeks to identify, challenge, and eliminate racial prejudice, discrimination, and inequality. In contemporary critical social justice frameworks, anti-racism often involves actively opposing systems, institutions, policies, and cultural norms believed to perpetuate racial disparities, rather than merely refraining from personal prejudice. Critics contend that some forms of anti-racism are influenced by Neo-Marxist and critical theory assumptions that emphasize group identity, power dynamics, and disparate outcomes over individual merit, equal treatment, and colorblind legal principles.
