Introduction: The Real Aim Behind the Erasure
There’s a concerted effort underway in the United States to manipulate the way Americans think about their past, present, and future. It’s not merely about reassessing history with a critical eye—something every honest historian should do. Rather, it’s about rewriting history entirely to impose a radical ideological framework on future generations. That framework is Neo-Marxism, often branded in modern form as “wokeness,” and it is influencing everything from public school textbooks to corporate training manuals to federal executive orders.
Those who push this worldview often package it in moral-sounding terms: equity, justice, and inclusion. But don’t be fooled by the language. Beneath the rhetoric lies a destructive ideology aimed at dividing the nation, tearing down its founding ideals, and rebuilding it in the image of leftist revolutionaries.
At the core of this movement is historical revisionism—not the honest re-evaluation of past events, but the deliberate distortion of those events to fit a revolutionary narrative.
The Neo-Marxist Framework
At the heart of the woke movement is a modern adaptation of classical Marxism. Classical Marxism framed all relationships through the lens of economics: bourgeoisie vs. proletariat. Neo-Marxism has replaced these categories with cultural ones—specifically, identity categories based on race, gender, and sexuality.
According to this new orthodoxy, all social relationships are understood as struggles between oppressors and the oppressed. There is no room for individual agency, personal morality, or nuanced circumstances. You are either part of the system of oppression or one of its victims.
And who are the oppressors? The new villains are identified with relentless consistency: white, male, heterosexual, Christian, and politically conservative. Every institution long associated with this demographic—church, family, capitalism, the military, and the Constitution—is branded as inherently oppressive and must be “deconstructed.”
The Biden Administration and the Woke Agenda
The Biden administration has not merely tolerated this ideology; it has championed it. From the earliest days of his presidency, Joe Biden made clear that he intended to be the most progressive president in history. He appointed ideologues who are deeply committed to identity politics and intersectional theory, many of whom are openly hostile to traditional American values.
Whether it’s through executive orders promoting gender ideology in schools and the military, or the DOJ labeling concerned parents as domestic threats, the administration has moved swiftly to institutionalize woke ideology. DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) bureaucracies have been expanded in federal agencies. Meanwhile, progressive policy proposals like the Equality Act reveal the endgame: the re-engineering of law and society according to the dictates of Neo-Marxist ideology.
Historical Revisionism as a Tool of Subversion
This ideological shift cannot succeed without controlling the story America tells about itself. That’s why history is ground zero in this culture war. To persuade citizens—especially the young—to reject their nation, you must convince them it was evil from the start.
Enter The 1619 Project, spearheaded by Nikole Hannah-Jones and The New York Times. This initiative claims that America’s true founding occurred not in 1776, but in 1619 with the arrival of the first African slaves. According to this narrative, everything from capitalism to patriotism is stained with white supremacy. The Founding Fathers are rebranded as frauds, and the Declaration of Independence is dismissed as a hypocritical smokescreen.
Then there’s A People’s History of the United States by Howard Zinn, which has become standard reading in many high school and college classrooms. Zinn’s work presents American history as a chronicle of exploitation, genocide, and oppression. Leftist teachers promote this narrative not to teach history, but to create activists.
These are not fringe ideas. These books are assigned in K–12 curricula across the country, often without parental knowledge or consent. In their classrooms, activist teachers portray America as a nation built on stolen land and stolen labor. There is little to no room for forgiveness, grace, or national progress. There is only guilt—and the promise of redemption through radical revolution.
When Statues Fall, So Do Civilizations
History is not just read in books—it’s seen in stone and bronze. That’s why leftist radicals have vandalized or torn down hundreds of monuments over the past few years. Their targets range from Confederate generals to Union heroes, from Christopher Columbus to Abraham Lincoln, and even Frederick Douglass.
The justification is always the same: these figures are somehow tainted by racism or oppression. But the standards applied are selective and hypocritical. Radical figures from the Left—some of whom openly endorsed violence—are celebrated or ignored. Meanwhile, historical figures who lived in complex times are judged by modern ideological criteria.
There is no grace or understanding in the woke worldview. There is only the binary: heroes of the revolution or villains of oppression. The idea is not to build a better America, but to erase it altogether.
The Next Target—Christianity
Make no mistake—statues of national leaders are not the end goal. Christianity is the next institution in the crosshairs.
To the Neo-Marxist, Christianity is guilty of the greatest ideological sins. It teaches absolute truth. It upholds moral standards rooted in God’s law. It affirms gender distinctions, the nuclear family, and individual accountability. Worse still (from their perspective), it teaches that salvation is found not in the state or revolution but in Christ alone.
The result? Christianity must be dismantled. Expect attacks on Christian symbols, historical figures, and sacred texts. The same standards used to discredit the Founders will be applied to church leaders, theologians, and even Jesus Himself. Already, there are calls to reinterpret or censor parts of the Bible under the guise of “hate speech.”
Read the Sources Yourself
If you think this is an exaggeration, I invite you to read the writings of prominent woke thinkers for yourself. Don’t take my word for it—take theirs.
Start with:
- How to Be an Antiracist by Ibram X. Kendi
- White Fragility by Robin DiAngelo
- The Color of Compromise by Jemar Tisby
- Critical Race Theory: An Introduction by Richard Delgado
You’ll find open declarations that all disparities are proof of discrimination, that colorblindness is racist, and that Christian influence must be resisted.
On the other hand, to understand the rebuttal, read:
- Debunking the 1619 Project by Mary Grabar
- Debunking Howard Zinn by Mary Grabar
- 1620: A Critical Response to the 1619 Project by Peter W. Wood
Grabar and Wood, trained historians, expose the factual inaccuracies, logical fallacies, and ideological motivations behind the revisionist efforts. Their works are not only intellectually sound but essential for any American who wants to preserve historical truth.
Video interviews with interviews of these authors are available on Youtube if you prefer.
Conclusion: Stand Against the Lies
The future of a free nation depends on its ability to remember the truth about its past. The woke movement is not merely about social reform. It is an ideological revolution that seeks to replace America’s foundation with the rubble of Marxist grievance. It demands our silence, our submission, and eventually, our faith.
We must not comply.
We must learn the real history. We must protect our institutions. We must teach our children to love their country—not because it is perfect, but because it is ours, and because it has stood for liberty more than any other nation on earth.
We must also recognize that this is not just a political battle, but a spiritual one. As Christians, we are called to stand for truth in every sphere of life. This includes history, education, and culture. Let us do so with clarity, courage, and compassion.

Some sources of information may reflect a libertarian and/or atheistic perspective. I may not agree with all of their opinions, but they offer some worthwhile comments on the topic under discussion.
Additionally, language used in the videos may be coarse. Coarse language does not reflect my personal standards.
Finally, those on the left often criticize my sources of information, which are primarily conservative and/or Christian. Truth is truth, regardless of how we feel about it. Leftists are largely led by their emotion rather than facts. It is no small wonder that they would criticize the sources that I provide. And, ultimately, my wordview is governed by Scripture. Many of my critics are not biblical Christians.
